The Tauranga ‘Super Centre,’ which opened in September 2005, is a purpose-built facility prominently located on Pyes Pa Road, the gateway to Tauranga. It has a full range of general and access rental equipment from 1.5 up to 7 tonne and staff who have considerable industry experience and knowledge of the area.

New Zealand Rental Group Chief Executive Mark Powell is thrilled with the announcement. “Our Tauranga branch, led by Richard Baird, consistently sets the benchmark within Hirepool,” he says. “We are pleased to see the team doing the same at an industry level, beating out stiff competition from other hire companies – to prove they are the best of the best.”

The award, which is judged by an independent panel, considers numerous facets of the business including branch Quality of Operations, presentation and a mystery shopper survey. It was initiated last year to promote and recognise the excellence of hire companies, of all sizes, across the industry.

“While this reflects well on us as a company, this award reflects the professional customer focused attitude of the Tauranga branch team,” says Mr Powell. “Hirepool provides the framework but you are dependent on the local people to take ownership of the branch to ensure its success. We congratulate Richard and the Hirepool Tauranga team for this great achievement,” he says.

HIANZ General Manager Phil Tindle says the awards, which this year had more categories and triple the number of entries, are “a great way to celebrate the dedication to business excellence within our industry”.
He says the Tauranga Hirepool branch scored very well in areas of compliance, health and safety and customer service. “The judges reported exceptional focus on customer service”.
